In Unnao district, in a dispute over one foot of land in the division of the ancestral house, a young man killed his elder brother by hitting him with a shovel. The police have arrested the accused. There was a dispute going on for several months between Ramkishore, a resident of Majra Pratap Kheda of Tikrabav village of Auras police station area, and his elder brother Gurucharan (57) over one foot of land inside the house.
Complained to the police many times but the matter was not getting resolved. On Monday morning, the dispute between the two brothers escalated again and Ramikshor killed his elder brother Gurucharan by hitting him on the head with a shovel. The incident created a stir in the village. The accused Ramkishore was present in the house after the incident. The deceased was the eldest of the four brothers. On receiving the information, police station in-charge Rekha Singh investigated and took the accused Ramkishore into custody along with the shovel and sent Gurucharan’s body for post-mortem.
The deceased Gurucharan had on Friday given a complaint letter to Auras police station and demanded a solution from the police. The police was visiting Pratap Kheda village every day and trying to resolve the issue between the two brothers but no solution could be reached. The villagers said that many times the two parties were made to reconcile in the village but no compromise could be reached. If the police had been serious, perhaps this incident would not have happened.
